VOLVO CAR 800 SERIES ( 01/06/1991 – 30/09/1992) DEFECT: On some towbars manufactured within a specified period the welding between the ball unit brackets and the crossmember may be defective. In extreme cases this could result in trailer detachment.
Remedy
Recall all 850 models which have been fitted with towbars and check if the towbar is within the affected range. Where it is established that this is the case the towbar assembly will be replaced with a quality assured unit.
