This may result in a small piece of metal becoming dislodged and in the worst case it may become lodged in the parking lock mechanism. Thus in the resulting in the parking brake failing to operated when “P” is selected on the transmission.
Remedy
Recall likely to be affected vehicles and replace the transmission.
