TOYOTA AVENSIS ( 10/07/2000 – 28/06/2001) DEFECT: There is a possibility that excessive residual stress remains on the check valve of the fuel pump during the assembly process. If the vehicle is driven with the residual stress the check valve may leak fuel.

Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to re-tighten the fuel pump check valve and replace the relevant fuel pipe to protect against stress fracture.
