RENAULT 19 – 1) BONNET CATCH MECHANISM MAY LOOSEN. 2) SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS MAY BE FAULTY.

RENAULT 19 ( 01/04/1992 –  31/03/1994) DEFECT:  1) Bonnet catch securing bolts may slacken in service allowing movement of the lock mechanism. This may result in the bonnet lifting. 2) Autoliv-Klippan seat belt pre-tensioners may be faulty.

Remedy

1. Replace the bonnet catch fixing bolts with screws and lock nuts. 2. Substitute any Autoliv-Klippan pre-tensioners with TRW-REPA equipment.
