porsche 918 SPYDER UK Recall

PORSCHE 918 SPYDER – POSSIBILITY OF FIRE

PORSCHE 918 SPYDER ( 25/02/2015 –  06/05/2015) DEFECT:  The wiring harness for the left hand radiator could be touching a heat guide plate made of carbon fibre. Therefore the harness could be damaged causing the radiator fan to stop working and an electric short circuit to the low resistance heat guide plate cannot be ruled out. This electric short circuit can cause the vehicle to catch fire even a long time after stopping the vehicle.

Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the routing of the wiring harness and the harness condition. The harness must be secured to the water tube using an additional tie wrap clamp. If the wire harness is damaged it must also be repaired.
