PORSCHE 911 ( 01/01/1989 – 31/12/1992) DEFECT: The rear heater blower resistor can become electrically overloaded due to binding or seizure of the heater blower. The overloaded resistor may become hot enough to ignite the plastic air pipe in which it is located.
Remedy
Recall the affected vehicles for the installation of a modified resistor unit which incorporates a thermal link.
