MERCEDES BENZ UNIMOG ( 01/01/2008 – 31/12/2008) DEFECT: It has been identified that on some vehicles the weld seams of the transverse control arms for the front and rear axles may be faulty at the transition between the bushing and the tube. Inasmuch as there may be only spot welds present instead of a continuous weld seam. In this condition the transverse control arms cannot fully absorb the forces which might occur which can lead to the weld breaking.

Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the subject control arms checked for weld completeness. The arms will be changed if found to be non compliant.
