MERCEDES BENZ AXOR ( 01/01/2004 – 31/12/2005) DEFECT: It has been identified that heavy corrosion in the interior of the starter motor may develop following frequent starting procedures or very high mileages. As a result damage may occur to the starter wiring harness routed below the choke housing. This may result in a short circuit in the starter harness and the risk of a vehicle fire.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a protective cap at the rear of the choke housing.
