FORD SCORPIO – THROTTLE MAY NOT RETURN TO IDLE POSITION

FORD SCORPIO ( 26/08/1994 –  20/03/1995) DEFECT:  As a result of tightness in the throttle spindle and/or fouling of the speed control cable on the inlet manifold the throttle may not return to the idle position when the accelerator pedal is released.

Remedy

Recall the affected vehicles and replace the speed control cable with the latest level type and if necessary also replace the throttle body assembly with the latest level type.
