FIAT IDEA ( 01/05/2005 – 30/09/2005) DEFECT: There is a possibility that corrosion may be present near the welds for the front suspension arm front mountings on the front cross member.Should this be the case in time this could lead to noise whilst driving and the possibility that the weld could fail. Failure of the weld may lead to loss of vehicle stability.
Remedy
Recalled vehicle will be checked to ascertain whether corrosion is present near the front suspension mountings. If this is found to be the case the front cross member will be replaced. If corrosion is not present a front cross member strengthening kit will be fitted.
