CADILLAC CORVETTE ( 01/09/1997 – 01/09/2004) DEFECT: The possibility exists that an interruption of or low voltage supply to the power train module may allow the vehicle to be accelerated with the steering column lock still engaged. Additionally the column lock may under certain circumstances remain locked when the ignition key is in the on position thus preventing the steering wheel from being turned.
Remedy
Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled at which time the PCM will be reprogrammed. At the same time the steering lock will be checked for correct tolerance and replaced if necessary.
