BMW 4 SEPIES ( 19/09/2011 – 08/12/2015) DEFECT: The electrical contact of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) is not sufficiently robust over the service life of the vehicle. As a result the power steering support may fail possibly leading to disconcerting driving situation for the driver. Additionally in a few cases a localised thermal event cannot be excluded.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the steering gear (EPS).
