BMW 3 SERIES ( 07/02/1995 – 20/03/1995) DEFECT: Due to production tolerances at the halfshaft splines the rear wheel bearings may not have been correctly pre-loaded during assembly. This could lead to bearing damage and premature failure.
Remedy
Recall the affected vehicles and check the halfshaft flange connection. Where this is outside prescribed tolerances the halfshaft and roller bearing will be replaced.
