ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE ( 23/05/2005 – 27/10/2005) DEFECT: The engine may not start because the power train to chassis primary earth stud may have intermittent high resistance. This condition may occur when electrical items that draw high current are utilised in which case the electrical path could route through the rear braided hoses causing them to heat up and possibly melt leading to a soft pedal illumination of the brake warning lamp and poor starting.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected so the primary earth stud can be moved to a new location and fit a secondary earth strap between the transmission and chassis.
