ALFA ROMEO 164 ( 01/09/1992 – 31/01/1995) DEFECT: Interference could occur between the gearbox wiring harness and the cover for the brake pedal cross shaft located in the front foot well. In time this could damage the harness and cause a short circuit with a consequent risk of fire.
Remedy
Recall the affected vehicles and protect the wiring harness by fitting a length of protective strip to the lower edge of the cross shaft cover.
